Impactec: Ergonomic Knee Protection Collection
Overview: Elevating Workwear & Industrial Safety
Designed for Impactec, this collection reinterprets professional knee protection for tile installers, construction specialists, and floor workers. Traditional knee pads often compromise on aesthetics, ergonomics, and tactile refinement. This project bridges industrial-grade durability with a sophisticated design language, transforming utilitarian protective gear into a refined product collection.
Design Philosophy & Form Language
The core objective was to create a modular array of protective shells optimized for high-impact resistance, repetitive stress relief, and long-term joint support.
Organic Ergonomics: Curvatures are sculpted to match the natural anatomy of the human knee, ensuring optimal weight distribution when kneeling on hard surfaces (tiles, concrete, stone).
Tactile Surface Textures: Linear grooves, concentric rings, and fluted patterns are strategically integrated. Beyond their bold visual character, these textures enhance flexibility, prevent slipping on smooth surfaces, and guide impact forces away from the joint center.
Integrated Fastening Slots: Side channels are seamlessly embedded into the core geometry to allow quick-release elastic/velcro strap attachment without compromising the structural integrity of the shell.
CMF & Material Strategy
High-Density Elastomer/EVA Foam Shells: Soft-touch, shock-absorbing materials engineered to resist abrasion and withstand severe job-site wear.
Vibrant Professional Palette: A bold CMF selection ranging from high-visibility safety red and industrial green to muted slate grey, sage, and soft olive—offering a modern, premium aesthetic to industrial workwear.
Collection Highlights
Designed as a versatile design family, each variant explores a unique geometric approach to impact dissipation—offering distinct flex points, ventilation patterns, and surface grips catered to different movement behaviors on the job.
